Planning appeal - 1 Stable Mews

The Department for Communities and Local Government is considering an appeal against this Council’s decision to refuse permission (dated 30 July 2007) for the planning application at 1, Old Stable Mews, Islington, London, N5 2LR for a first floor side extension.

The Council refused to grant planning permission for the following reasons:

Reason: The proposed first floor side extension by reason of its excessive width, height and position at the boundary of the site would be out of scale and character with this and surrounding dwellings and therefore detrimental to visual amenity, contrary to policies D1, D3, D4 and D11 of Islington’s Unitary Development Plan 2002 and the Islington Design Guide 2006.
